Terms of Use

These terms describe how you may use the free image tools, what happens to content you edit, and the practical limits of the service. Please read them before using Pixelate Photo.

Using the site and accepting these terms

You can use the free image tools at pixelatephoto.app. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Where the law requires a parent or guardian's permission, use the service only with the appropriate permission.

These terms apply to the image pixelator, face pixelator, photo-to-pixel-art converter, pixel art grid maker, and related informational pages. Individual tools may show their own file size limits and instructions.

What the free tools do

You can use the available tools to add pixel effects to photos, cover selected areas or faces, convert a photo to pixel art, and draw or edit artwork on a pixel grid. The website offers these editing and download features without requiring an account or charging a fee for the listed tools.

The formats and image sizes you can use depend on the tool and your device. Large pictures may take longer to open or save, and some may not work on devices with limited memory. Certain download formats don't keep transparent backgrounds, while some effects change the picture's size or colors. Check the preview and downloaded file before using it.

Your images, permissions, and downloads

You are responsible for the pictures, artwork, text, and other material you choose to edit. You must have the rights or permissions needed to use that material and to publish or share the resulting files. Editing a picture does not grant rights that you did not already have in the original material, including copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

Your photos and drawings are edited on your device. Using these tools doesn't transfer ownership of your pictures or the files you create to us. You keep the rights you already have in your own content. Downloading a file does not mean that we certify that the image is yours to use or distribute.

The site's own design, branding, text, and software may be protected by intellectual property laws or third-party licenses. Access to the free tools does not give you the right to copy the site's branding, claim to operate Pixelate Photo, or redistribute proprietary site content as your own.

Use the site responsibly

You agree not to use the tools or website to break the law, infringe another person's rights, harass or harm others, or misrepresent edited images in ways that could cause harm. Do not attempt to overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting systems. You are also responsible for checking whether your intended use complies with the rules of any platform where you later share an edited image.

Some images contain sensitive information about people who did not choose to be photographed or published. Before sharing, consider their privacy and whether you need permission. Covering someone's face doesn't automatically make an image appropriate to share.

Important limitations of face pixelation

A mosaic effect, blur, or other visual edit does not guarantee that a person cannot be identified. Hair, clothing, surroundings, signs, and other clues may remain visible. Automated face detection can miss small, turned, obstructed, or distant faces, and manually selected areas can be too small.

Review the complete image before sharing it. Where it is particularly important to remove sensitive visual details, consider a fully opaque cover over the entire relevant area. These are general image-editing tools, not a guaranteed way to anonymize people, securely redact documents, or meet a legal requirement. You are responsible for checking whether the finished image is suitable for your needs.

Availability, compatibility, and changes

We aim to keep the tools useful and accessible, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device, or continued availability of every feature. Browsers, image formats, network conditions, and device memory can affect the result. We may make changes, fix defects, or discontinue a feature when necessary.

Your drawings and edits aren't saved to an online account. Refreshing or closing the page may erase work you haven't downloaded. Download the files you want to keep. You are responsible for making your own backups and checking downloaded files before deleting an original.

No professional advice or guaranteed results

The website and tools are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not promise that the site will always be error-free, that an image will be suitable for every use, or that pixelation will make sensitive content impossible to recover or recognize.

Information about editing, privacy, or other topics on the site is general guidance, not professional legal, security, or other specialist advice. You should obtain independent advice where your particular use requires it. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or protections that the law does not allow to be excluded.

Responsibility and limitations of liability

You are responsible for how you use the editor and the files you choose to publish or share. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pixelate Photo is not responsible for losses caused by a failure to save your work, misuse of an edited image, an inaccurate face-detection result, interrupted access, or incompatibility with a browser or device.

Any limitation of liability applies only where it is lawful and does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited, including rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws. Nothing here attempts to prevent you from exercising those rights.

Updates to these terms and how to reach us

We may update these terms when our tools, policies, or legal requirements change. The date above tells you when these terms were last updated. If we make significant changes, we may also post a notice on the website. Any updated terms apply subject to your rights under applicable law.

For questions about these terms, email[email protected]. For information about personal data and privacy requests, read ourPrivacy Policy.
