Your information

Privacy Policy

We want you to know what happens when you edit a picture, open a page, or email us. Your pictures are edited in your browser. Like other websites, Pixelate Photo also receives ordinary requests when you visit its pages.

Privacy at a glance

Pixelate Photo provides free browser-based image tools at pixelatephoto.app. Your chosen photos, drawings, and downloads are handled in your browser. You don't need an account, and the editing tools don't upload your pictures to us.

Your photo stays on your device during editing, but your browser still requests the pages and files needed to use the site. Our hosting provider may receive information about those requests, such as your IP address. If you contact us, we'll also receive the information you choose to send in your email.

What happens to the images you edit?

When you select a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, your browser reads it to display a preview and applies the chosen effects locally. Downloads are created in your browser. The editing tools don't send your photos, drawings, or finished images to our servers for processing.

The Face Pixelator uses face-detection software running on your device to suggest areas to cover. It downloads the files required for detection, but the photo itself is not submitted to a remote face-recognition service through this feature. Automatic detection may miss faces, so always check the result before sharing it.

We don't save your photos or drawing projects in an online account. Your picture and changes remain in the browser tab while you're editing. Closing or refreshing a page may remove unsaved work. Files you download are then stored wherever your device or browser saves them, under your control.

Information involved when you visit

Cloudflare helps deliver and protect Pixelate Photo. When you visit, Cloudflare may process your IP address, the pages requested, the time of the request, browser or device information, and information related to website security. This is separate from the pictures you're editing.

This information can help deliver the site, troubleshoot access problems, and protect against misuse. Editing pictures locally does not prevent the hosting provider from processing ordinary website requests. See Cloudflare's privacy notices for more about its handling of this information.

When you contact support

If you email [email protected], we receive the email address you use, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use this information to read your request, respond when possible, investigate a reported issue, and keep a record of relevant correspondence where needed. Your email provider and the service that delivers our support mailbox may also handle the message as part of sending and storing it.

Please describe problems without sending private photographs, account credentials, financial details, or other sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary and you have considered the risks. You can usually report an editing issue by describing the tool, your browser, and the steps that led to the problem.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how the editing tools are used. Google Analytics may collect page addresses, browser and device information, approximate location, and interaction events such as trying a sample, changing a pixel setting, or downloading a result. Event details can include image format, grid size, and selected effects, but we do not intentionally send your photos, drawings, filenames, or the contents of downloaded images to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics can use first-party cookies, such as _ga, to distinguish visits and help measure usage. This information is processed by Google according to its Privacy Policy. We have turned off Google advertising signals and ad personalization in the site's analytics tag, and we do not currently load advertising scripts. You can restrict cookies or tracking using your browser's privacy controls. Cloudflare and other services needed to deliver or protect the site may also use essential cookies or similar technologies.

External files and service providers

Cloudflare delivers the website's pages, images, fonts, and other files. The Face Pixelator also downloads the files it needs to find faces on your device. The image editors don't send your photos to an outside image-conversion service.

Your browser, extensions, device, and internet provider may handle information according to their own settings and policies. We don't control those services. If you follow a link to another website, that website's privacy policy applies.

Data retention and security

We don't store the images you edit on our servers, so there is no online gallery of your pictures for us to delete. Edits still in your browser aren't a permanent backup. Cloudflare may retain website and security information according to its own retention practices.

We may keep support emails as needed to answer your questions, follow up on an issue, or meet legal obligations. How long an email is kept depends on the reason for keeping it. We take reasonable steps to protect correspondence, although no email or online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy choices and rights

You can choose not to send a support message, decide which pictures to open in an editor, and control the files you download. You can close the editor to end the active editing session. To remove a downloaded image, delete it from your own device or the location you saved it to.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about certain personal data, or to object to particular uses. Send a request to [email protected]. Describe what information your request concerns without sending more personal data than necessary. We may need to verify a request before acting, and some information may be held by independent service providers rather than by us.

Children, changes, and links away from the site

These editing tools are intended for general image-editing tasks and are not designed to collect information from children. If you believe personal information relating to a child was included in correspondence sent to us and should be reviewed, please contact us.

We may revise this policy as the tools, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top indicates the latest published revision. Material changes should be explained on the site as appropriate. Our Terms of Use explain additional conditions for using Pixelate Photo.
